MG1SW Yankee Rose (Aus) (All American {Aus}) will trial at Doomben on Tuesday, Racing.com reported. Off through the autumn after bone chips were removed from one of her knees on the back of an unplaced run in the G1 Crown Oaks on Nov. 3, the David Vandyke trainee will have Michael Cahill aboard in the 1000-metre trial.
“I don't want her to do too much, I'd just like to see her travel on the bit the whole way and have a good experience,” Vandyke told Racing.com of his G1 Golden Slipper bridesmaid. It's been a long road and she's had a few issues, she's been in work for 20 weeks. She had bone chips removed from her knee and she's been plagued by bad feet. Her feet are pretty good at the moment, but she's a horse with very-thin-walled feet which can make it hard to keep shoes on her and it can mean she is prone to having abscesses.”
The G1 Inglis Sires' Produce and G1 Moet & Chandon Spring Champion heroine, who ran third in the wake of Winx (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}) and Hartnell (GB) (Authorized {Ire}) in the Oct. 22 Cox Plate, is pointing to the G1 Memsie S. at Caulfield on Sept. 2.
