A dark bay filly by Twirling Candy took over the lead during Wednesday's second session of the OBS March Sale when selling for $825,000 to the bid of bloodstock agent Jason Litt. Litt was bidding on behalf of LNJ Foxwoods. The New York-bred youngster, who worked a bullet quarter-mile in :20 2/5, was consigned by de Meric Sales. Bred by Mares Rule II, the filly was purchased by Machmer Hall for $50,000 at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton November Mixed Sale. She is out of Felicitee (Menifee), a half-sister to graded stakes placed Mazella (Mazel Trick). Twirling Candy, who is the sire of last Saturday's GII San Felipe S. winner Danzing Candy, was also represented by an $850,000 colt during Tuesday's first session of the two-day sale.
