Baroness Dido Harding and Sandy Dudgeon have been appointment to the main board of The Jockey Club, the organization announced on Tuesday. Julia Budd, a Jockey Club Steward since 2012, has been elected to the position of deputy senior steward, replacing Andrew Merriam.
Harding, Chair of NHS Improvement and former chief executive of TalkTalk Telecom Group Plc and Dudgeon, the head of wealth management for Schroders in Hong Kong have been appointed to three-year terms from Jan. 1, 2018 on The Jockey Club's Board of Stewards. Their role is to oversee the performance of the group, which runs the Randox Health Grand National, the Cheltenham Festival and the Investec Derby among many of British horseracing's top events and ensure The Jockey Club lives up to its Royal Charter commitments to act for the long-term good of British Racing. Budd, the chairman of The Jockey Club's Epsom Downs Racecourse, was elected a member of The Jockey Club in 2008. She is also a founding partner in The Zygos Partnership, and a member of the Government's Profession and Business Services Council.
The Jockey Club's 2018 Board of Stewards are: Roger Weatherby, senior steward, Julia Budd, deputy senior steward; The Lord Daresbury; Justin Dowley; Sandy Dudgeon; Baroness Harding; The Hon. Peter Stanley; and James Westoll.
