So Perfect (Scat Daddy), who earned 'TDN Rising Star' status in her Apr. 22 unveiling going five furlongs at Navan, slipped down to fourth when upped to six panels in the May 20 Listed Naas Fillies' Sprint and lined up for Sunday's G3 Grangecon S. at The Curragh bouncing back off a close-up fourth returned to five in the June 20 G2 Queen Mary S. at Royal Ascot. Steadied under cover in a share of fourth through halfway, the 6-4 favourite was rowed along approaching the two pole and kept on resolutely under a final-furlong drive to deny Skitter Skatter (Scat Daddy) by a half length in the shadows of the post, with Cava (Ire) (Accalamation {GB}) the same margin back in third. “She had a lovely run at [Royal] Ascot and just got drawn a little bit out by herself there, but that was lovely and she was able to get a little bit of cover today,” explained trainer Aidan O'Brien. “She's not there yet and there is plenty more to come from her, and Ryan [Moore] was delighted with her. She is a big, strong filly and might go to the [July 13 G2] Cherry Hinton [S. at Newmarket]. I think she'll stay further and, as a Scat Daddy, I'd say she'd like fast ground.”

Patrick Prendergast was understandably delighted with the showing of runner-up Skitter Scatter and said, “Ronan [Whelan] gave her a good ride and I'd say the first three are all good fillies. My filly is only a little thing, but she has some attitude and I'm proud of her. I don't know what I'm going to do with her and will have to figure it out. I believed she belonged in this company and now I know she does. She now has black type so is worth a lot of money.”

So Perfect is a full-sisietr to Listed Marguerite S. third Scat Eddie (Scat Daddy), and half to a yearling colt by Into Mischief and a filly foal by Candy Ride (Arg). She is the leading performer out of Hopeoverexperience (Songandaprayer), herself produced by a winning half-sister to GII Illinois Derby and GIII Gotham S.-winning sire Cowtown Cat (Distorted Humor) while her third dam, stakes-winning GIII Betsy Ross H. third Shouldn't Say Never (Meadowlake), is kin to three black-type winners headed by GIII Sorority S. heroine Crafty But Sweet (Crafty Prospector)
