+BOLT D'ORO (c, 2, Medaglia d'Oro&log=">Medaglia d'Oro–Globe Trot, by A.P. Indy) overcame a slow start to graduate on debut as the heavy favorite at Del Mar. Showing a sharp worktab, punctuated by a best-of-93 local five-furlong spin in :59 flat July 22, the $630,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga graduate broke a bit flatfooted as the 4-5 favorite, but recovered to move through between horses and duel for command through a :22.53 quarter. Poking his head in front passing the five-sixteenths pole, the bay was challenged by Bank Walker (Tiz Wonderful) at the top of the lane, but stayed straight and shook clear as that one ran a bit greenly, hitting the line 2 1/4 lengths to the good. Runaway Saturday (Run Away and Hide), off very awkwardly and more than 20 lengths behind for much of the running, rallied bravely to be third at 50-1, finishing 8 1/4 lengths behind the runner-up. The winner is a half to Sonic Mule (Distorted Humor), MGSW & MGSP, $214,230. He also shares a second dam, MGSW Trip (Lord At War {Arg}) with MSW/MGSP 'TDN Rising Star' Recruiting Ready (Algorithms). Globe Trot foaled a colt by Curlin last season. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $36,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
