Theonewewaitedfor was widest of a three-way pace battle in her May 26 debut here and stayed on well in the stretch to earn a half-length victory at 17-5. Made the distant second choice in this co-feature, the homebred broke sharpest of all from the outside stall before settling second in the early going. Heavy favorite Miss Southern Miss came to her outside heading into the turn and the two moved in tandem to collar leader Cioppino Pasadino (Time to Get Even) leaving the five-sixteenths pole. Throwing down with the chalk at the head of the stretch, Theonewewaitedfor repelled that one tenaciously and kicked clear in the final sixteenth for an impressive score. The winner's dam was runner-up in both the GI Milady Breeders' Cup H. and GI Vanity H. on this circuit in 1999. The win marked the first stakes victory for freshman sire Creative Cause (by Giant's Causeway), who winning trainer Mike Harrington campaigned.

“I'm speechless,” Harrington said. “It's very special seeing a daughter of Creative Cause winning. Ironically, she lived up to her name. I named her and she's always been the best filly in the barn. She's definitely not a sprinter. Her dad ran a mile and a quarter (in the 2012 Kentucky Derby in which he finished fifth, and was subsequently third in the Preakness before being retired), her mother ran a mile and an eighth so there's no reason why she won't go long.” Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
