Contributer (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}–Serisia {Fr}, by Exit to Nowhere), Australia's champion middle-distance horse of 2015, and his Godolphin stablemate Complacent (Aus) (Authorized {Ire}–Insouciance {Aus}, by Quest for Fame {GB}) will stand at Mapperley Stud in New Zealand in conjunction with Darley stallions.

“The Darley stallions have always been well supported by New Zealand breeders in Australia and we have strong relationships with most of the key players over there,” said Godolphin's Managing Director Henry Plumptre. “However, we are confident that the New Zealand domestic market has established a solid base for the future and we are placing these exciting horses over there to be part of that success.”

A multiple listed winner–including the prestigious Wolferton H. at Royal Ascot–and placed behind the likes of Magician (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Noble Mission (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) at group level in Europe for George Bolton and trainer Ed Dunlop, Contributer won the G3 David Jones Cup in his Australian debut in October 2014. Contributer dominated middle-distance races in early 2015, winning the G2 Apollo S. (1400m), the G1 Chipping Norton S. (1600m) and the G1 Ranvet S. (2000m) over the course of five weeks to lock down championship honors. He retired to stud with eight wins from 18 starts and earnings of A$988,700.

The Darley-bred Complacent took flight after graduating in his third career start, adding the G3 Gloaming S. followed by a win in the G1 Spring Champion S. Sidelined nearly two years following a runner-up effort in the G1 AAMI Victoria Derby in November 2013, he retained enough talent to annex the G2 Chelmsford S. and G3 Craven S. at Randwick in the spring of 2015. Complacent won five of his 11 starts and placed in four others while earning A$908,225.

“We are thrilled to be going into business with Darley in both of these tremendously talented racehorses,” Mapperley Stud owner Simms Davison said. “The farm had huge success with the progeny of High Chaparral with both So You Think (NZ) and Dundeel (NZ) being raised and grazed at Mapperley. I see no reason why the success we had with High Chaparral will not continue with his champion son Contributer. He is a wonderful-moving horse with great presence. I am really excited about showing him to breeders when he arrives at Mapperley.

Davison added, “Complacent is a very exciting Group 1-winning stallion who, due to injury, never reached his full potential. Breeders will get real value from such a talented, good-looking Australian athlete. The support we have received from many of New Zealand's top breeders has been both fantastic and very encouraging.”
