Lovely Bernadette, third over Arlington's all-weather surface in her Aug. 27 debut, graduated by 2 1/4 lengths over a muddy Churchill strip Sept. 17 and bested China Grove by 1 1/2 lengths in a 6 1/2-furlong Keeneland allowance last time out Oct. 9. Unrushed out of the gate, the bay filly dropped back to last and trailed the field through fractions of :22.55 and :45.37. She took closer order leaving the backstretch, loomed a threat with an aggressive four-wide move turning for home and surged to the lead with a furlong to run before holding off the late-closing China Grove. Lovelly Bernadette is the first foal out of Inlovewithlove. The mare produced a filly by Stay Thirsty in 2015 and a colt by Revolutionary in 2016. She was bred back to Revolutionary this spring.
