War Front Half-Sister to Saxon Warrior Earns Rising Star Tag at Naas

More Beautiful Racing Post

By

Irish racing returned with a bang as Susan Magnier's More Beautiful (War Front), a half-sister to MG1SW sire Saxon Warrior (Jpn) (Deep Impact), powered into the ranks of TDN Rising Stars with an impressive 3 1/2-length debut victory in Monday's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden over five furlongs at Naas. The 11-4 favourite made a fast getaway and was in the vanguard throughout. Cruising into an outright lead passing the quarter-mile marker, she quickened in style approaching the final furlong and lengthened clear under mild coaxing in the closing stages to easily outclass Roses Blue (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}), who shaped with a degree of promise, by daylight in taking fashion.

“She's a War Front and every one of them have a lot of ability,” said winning rider Seamus Heffernan of the new 7-2 ante-post favourite for Royal Ascot's G2 Queen Mary S. over the same distance. “She couldn't have done it any easier and I liked what I felt today.”

More Beautiful, whose G1 Racing Post Trophy and G1 2000 Guineas-winning half-brother earned TDN Rising Stardom on debut too, is also a half-sister to Listed Platinum S. placegetter Pavlenko (Jpn) and a colt foal by Deep Impact (Jpn). She is the second scorer from as many runners produced by G1 Moyglare Stud S.-winning European champion juvenile filly and G1 1000 Guineas third Maybe (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and hails from the family of MG1SW sire Dr Devious (Ire) (Ahonoora {GB}). Maybe is a full-sister to MG1SP G3 Silver Flash S. victress Promise To Be True (Ire) out of a stakes-winning sibling of G1 Epsom Oaks and G1 Preis der Diana heroine Dancing Rain (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) and MGSW G1 Fillies' Mile and G1 Jebel Hatta placegetter Magic Lily (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) and stakes-winning G1 Grand Prix de Paris third Jalmoud (GB) (New Approach {Ire}).
