Mo Town followed up a good second-place showing on the Travers day undercard with a powerful maiden score stretching out at Belmont to become the newest 'TDN Rising Star'. Taking a good bit of play to be 7-2 in the Aug. 27 opener, the $200,000 KEESEP buy stayed on well to be runner-up despite suffering a wide journey behind a wire-to-wire winner. Off at 65 cents on the dollar here, Mo Town tracked from third through moderate fractions of :23.83 and :47.83. Moving three deep to assume command at the top of the lane, the bay burst away impressively in the final furlong to romp by seven lengths. Everybodyluvsrudy (Union Rags) finished second. The winner's second dam is GSW/MGISP and produced SW/GSP Jaguar Paw (Giant's Causeway). His third dam was a GSW performer as well. Grazie Mille has since produced a yearling filly by Pioneerof the Nile and a weanling Super Saver filly. She was bred back to Uncle Mo this term. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $63,600.
