The Point2Rules Bonus was launched by ThoroughBid on Thursday. A new incentive for point-to-point graduates in the 2021/22 season, the bonus applies to 4-, 5-, and 6-year olds sold by the company with the first applicable sale the Dec. 19 Christmas Sale. If they win for their new connections in their first start under rules, they receive £5,000 and in addition, any graduate of a British point-to-point winning on their rules debut will qualify for an extra £10,000. To qualify for the bonus, horses must not have run in any race other than a British or Irish sanctioned point-to-point steeplechase or point-to-point bumpers and the subsequent win under rules, hunter chases excluded, must fall within 12 months of the date of the ThoroughBid sale in which the horse was sold.
