Krypton Factor (GB) (Kyllachy {GB}) won the G3 Mahab Al Shimaal en route to a score in the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen on the Dubai World Cup card in 2012, and connections will be hoping the 7-year-old gelding has a repeat in him when he goes postward today. The dark bay nearly pulled off the feat again in 2013, finishing second in the Mahab Al Shimaal and third in the Shaheen behind Reynaldothewizard (Speightstown) before running third in the G1 Diamond Jubilee S. at Royal Ascot, but the Fawzi Nass colorbearer was far from his best at last year's carnival, finishing way up the field in both races. Krypton Factor indicated he has some fight left in him, however, when going down by a valiant quarter-length to Reynaldothewizard in his seasonal debut in the G3 Al Shindagha Sprint Feb. 12. Krypton Factor will have a few formidable shippers to deal with here, most notably the former American runner Cool Cowboy (Kodiak Kowboy), a 4 1/2-length winner of Mountaineer's Sophomore Sprint Championship S. when last seen Nov. 12. The Doug Watson charge is an all-out speedster and will be looking to run the opposition off their feet. Sheikh Hamdan's Farmah(Speightstown) makes her first start of the season off a pair of stakes scores in France and Italy, most recently the G3 Carlo E Francesco Aloisi in Rome Nov. 9.
