A service of thanksgiving for the life of Tim Preston will be held at Dalham Parish Church near Newmarket on Monday, July 8 at 2.30pm.
Preston, the immensely popular former European representative for racing and sales at Keeneland, died earlier this month at the age of 80.
In a tribute published recently in TDN, Keeneland's former president, Bill Greely, who was responsible for appointing Preston to the role he held for 23 years, said, “[Tim] was one of the nicest, most personable, capable and horse-savvy people with whom I ever had the pleasure to work. The words 'no' and 'I can't' were not in his vocabulary. He was always there to assist anyone who needed his help or his sage advice.”
