David Ingordo has undoubtedly inspected thousands of yearlings, many of whom went on to become Ingordo-purchased success stories, since he saw Accelerate (Lookin at Lucky) at the 2014 Keeneland September Sale. Nevertheless, the well-respected agent has a vivid memory of seeing Hip 1162 at the Bluewater Sales consignment, a May-foaled son of the stakes-placed Awesome Again mare Issues. Flash forward seven years after Ingordo purchased the yearling colt for $380,000, and Accelerate is now an Eclipse-earning, Breeders' Cup Classic-winning Lane's End sire with first yearlings hitting the market this summer.

Tapwrit Well-Represented by First Yearlings at Fasig July

This year, Essential Quality's victory in the Belmont S. gave Tapit his fourth winner in the Test of the Champion. One of the champion sire's other Belmont-winning sons Tapwrit will have his first crop of yearlings hit the market this year. Gainesway's Sean Tugel said that he believes Tapwrit is throwing his good-looking physical on to his first crops and that many of his yearlings reflect the balance and athleticism seen in their grandsire Tapit.

The Man Alongside Foundation Sire Malibu Moon

Following the sudden passing of Spendthrift foundation sire Malibu Moon, much has been said on his accomplishments at stud. The perennial leading sire has had 126 stakes winners, 51 graded winners and 17 Grade I winners. He's the sire of a Kentucky winner in Orb and an Eclipse Champion in Declan's Moon.
