With a plethora of big-race entries to match a rosette-laden pedigree, Secret World did not disappoint in this debut and announced himself on the stage with a mightily impressive display. The imposing chestnut broke smartly from the gate, but was restrained to race off a generous pace in mid-division for most of the contest. Cruising into contention approaching the final furlong, the 11-4 favorite needed just one shake of Shane Kelly's reins to brush aside market rival Mosharref (Ire) (Alhaarth {Ire}) and was value for more than the official winning margin of 1 1/4 lengths, with the runner-up five lengths clear of the remainder. "We've been very confident about the horse although he didn't run last year," explained owner Paul Roy. "He's been showing a lot of form at home and we were very pleased with that. Line him up against four- and five-year-olds and he really looks the part, it's always nice to have a horse with an engine who looks the part as well." Of future plans, the owner continued, "He's entered [in the May 6 G1 2000 Guineas] and there were a lot of good horses in this race today so I think we'll see how he does over the next couple of weeks. We can [also] dream about a mile-and-a-quarter and maybe even a mile-and-a-half." The colt received quotes as low as 25-1 for both May 6 G1 2000 Guineas and June 2 G1 Derby in the wake of this success. Secret World, a €165,000 GOFOCT yearling, is a half brother to Walk in the Park (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}, G1SP-Eng & Fr, $609,357). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, £6,153.
