Gozilla (Flatter), backed down to 3-5 favoritism off of plenty of hype, skipped clear down the lane to score a front- running debut victory and earn the 'TDN Rising Star' tag in Saturday's seventh race at Saratoga. The chestnut colt hopped slightly at the break, but recovered quickly to take the lead and cut out fractions of :22.46 and :45.55, sailing clear in the final furlong to score by 4 1/2 lengths and complete the six furlongs in 1:09.59. Ox Bridge (Oxbow) was second and Sprawl (City Zip) was third. Gozilla, who breezed five furlongs in a bullet :59 at Saratoga July 28, worked July 21 with stablemate Tumbling Sky (Competitive Edge), winner of the day's fifth race. Gozilla was a $150,000 Fasig-Tipton October yearling purchase and RNA'd for $395,000 at this year's OBS April sale after breezing a flashy :10 flat. His dam Atlantic Dream (Stormy Atlantic) is a full-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Icy Atlantic.
