Jungle Racing, LNJ Foxwoods and Nexus Racing Club’s Cruel Intention (Smiling Tiger) entered his Santa Anita debut with tons of hype (click for XBTV videos), and ran to the buzz Saturday to garner the ‘TDN Rising Star’ distinction. A $200,000 Barretts April acquisition off a :10 flat co-bullet breeze, the full-brother to Spiced Perfection, MSW, $385,405 jetted to the front at 1-5. Doling out splits of :22.05 and :45.11, the bay put 5 1/2 lengths on second timer Teacher’s Treasure (Square Eddie) and stopped the clock in 1:09.72 over a surface with some moisture in it. Teacher’s Treasure was another 15 1/2 lengths clear of the third finisher. Cruel Intention is the third and final registered foal out of dam Perfect Feat, a daughter of MGSP Bold Feat (Capote). This is the female family of graded winners Changing Ways, Jacodra’s Devil and Jacodra.
