John Oxley’s homebred Dream Maker (Tapit), a full-brother to last year’s GI Del Mar Oaks winner Dream Dancing (GISW, $462,510), strode effortlessly from last to first to win his debut by a widening three lengths at Churchill Downs Thursday to become the newest ‘TDN Rising Star.’ Sent off the even-money favorite, the gray colt was outfooted early and trailed the field as Ready and Rich (Super Saver) was on the lead through fractions of :22.43 and :45.75. Angled to the center of the track in upper stretch, Dream Maker kicked into gear and reeled in the pacesetter before gliding clear to the wire. Ready and Rich was second and Fluminense (More Than Ready) was third.    Dream Maker is out of the unraced To Dream About, a daughter of Oxley’s GI Kentucky Derby winner Monarchos and his champion mare Beautiful Pleasure (Maudlin). In addition to Dream Dancing, Dream Maker is also a half-brother to Sky Dreamer (Sky Mesa, GSP, $176,065); and Awesome Sky (Sky Mesa, GSP, $143,166). Dream Maker is the most recent reported foal out of To Dream About, who aborted an Empire Maker last year and had a dead foal by Frosted this year.
