Robert S. Evan’s homebred Fast Boat (City Zip) rallied strongly down the Gulfstream Park stretch to graduate by 4 3/4 lengths in ‘TDN Rising Star’ fashion Friday. The dark bay was a distant third behind ‘TDN Rising Star’ and recent jaw-dropping GIII DeMille S. hero Analyze It (Point of Entry) first out over the Belmont lawn Oct. 28.

Fast Boat, favored at even-money while adding Lasix here, broke on top, but was quickly taken back by Tyler Gaffalione and settled fourth along the rail heading into the first turn. Fast Boat stayed along the rail heading into the far turn, was swung to the outside of the leaders and unleashed an eye-catching turn of foot at the top of the lane for the impressive graduation.

Fast Boat’s first two dams carried Evans’s colors. This is the first foal out of Yellow Boat (lemon Drop Kid), a juvenile winner herself. She also has a yearling colt named Uhtred (English Channel), a weanling colt by The Factor and was visited by Tonalist this season.
