Mind Mapping was defeated by a head, 12 lengths clear of third, in his Oct. 25 debut over this course and distance in his only prior start and duly obliged as the 1-5 lock in this return. Seizing early control and dictating throughout, the $400,000 KEESEP yearling was nudged along with 350 metres remaining and pushed clear inside the final eighth to easily account for El Manifico (Fr) (High Chaparral {Ire}) by an impressive six lengths. “He ran very well first time out and has improved a lot since, explained winning rider Mickael Barzalona. “He ought to develop into a Group horse and, if he keeps going the right way, is one whose name we’ll be hearing about next year. The bay becomes the second winner from as many runners out of Visual Mind (Kingmambo), a half-sister to G1 Vincent O’Brien S.-winning Irish highweight Pathfork (Distorted Humor) and the dual stakes scorer Tacticus (A.P. Indy). His second dam is Listed Prix de Bagatelle victress Visions of Clarity (Ire) (Sadler’s Wells), herself a half-sister to MG1SW sire Spinning World (Nureyev) out of the stakes-winning G1 Cheveley Park S. runner-up Imperfect Circle (Riverman). Other leading lights in the family include MG1SW sires Aldebaran (Mr. Prospector), Denon (Pleasant Colony) and Saddex (GB) (Sadler’s Wells). Visual Mind, who was bred to American Pharoah this year, has also produced a yearling filly by Arch and a colt foal by Bernardini. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, €18,900.
