It Tiz Well showed some late interest to take third at first asking going this trip at Santa Anita Oct. 28, and logged a series of solid works over the Santa Anita strip since, including a solid five-furlong breeze in 1:00 4/5 (8/45) Dec. 3. Bet like a good thing down to 2-5 from an 8-5 morning line, the $230,000 KEESEP yearling delivered the goods in a 10-length tour de force en route to ‘TDN Rising Stardom’ in the third at Los Alamitos Sunday. The lanky dark bay was away in good order and settled just to the outside of the dueling pair of Sheza Firstsamurai (First Samurai) and Singleforareason (Shackleford). That duo blitzed an opening quarter in :21.31 with a generous tailwind at their backs and by the time they reached a half in :44.68, It Tiz Well was looming dangerously up on the outside. She forged to the front in upper stretch although racing with her head turned toward the stands, but pilot Drayden Van Dyke straightened her out and she leveled off impressively to score by 10 lengths under a mostly hands and heels ride despite a strong headwind. Fortunate Queen (Pioneerof the Nile) completed the exacta, 2 1/4 lengths in advance of the remainder. It Tiz, who captured the Listed Megahertz S. and Le Cle S.–both over the grass–and completed the superfecta in a trio of all-weather Grade I’s (Darley Debutante S., Oak Leaf S. and Hollywood Starlet S.) during her racing days, foaled a filly by Ghostzapper in 2015, and a filly by the late Scat Daddy in 2016. A half-sister to Canadian champion grass mare Solid Appeal (Successful Appeal), It Tiz was covered by City Zip this spring. Sales history: $230,000 Ylg ’15 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, $33,240.
