Untapped became the newest ‘TDN Rising Star’ with a 6 1/4-length win at second asking at Keeneland Wednesday. The chestnut reported home third in a one-mile Churchill Downs maiden affair Sept. 16 after setting the pace and was favored at 1-2 to go two better in this second attempt. Under Florent Geroux, Untapped stalked one off the rail as the pacesetter set honest fractions of :23.24 for the opening quarter and :47.27 for the half. The Asmussen trainee cruised up to even terms with ominous ease through six furlongs in 1:12.50 and coasted home from there to win going away. Ring Me Up (Dialed In), who was bothered at the start, completed the exacta. Untapped is a half-sister to Paddy O’Prado (El Prado {Ire}), GISW and GI Kentucky Derby third-place finisher, $1,721,297; and a full-sister to Untapable, Ch. 3yo Filly, MGISW, $3,926,625. Fun House, a winner of the GII Buena Vista H. and a half-sister to MGSW & GISP Early Flyer (Gilded Time), has a yearling full-sister to the winner and a weanling colt by the same sire. She was covered by the Gainesway resident this spring. This is also the family of GISWs Olympio (Naskra), Cuvee (Carson City), and GSW & GISP Call Now (Wild Again). Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-1, $40,300.
