Oscar Performance put in a mild rally from far back to be fifth on debut over this same course and distance July 23, and employed a change in tactics to deliver a sparkling front-running graduation Saturday at the Spa. Sent straight to the front at 6-1 after drawing in off the also eligible list, the bay led through fractions of :23.68 and :48.87. Well rated into the far turn, he spurted clear while never threatened and reported home a much-the-best winner, 10 1/4 lengths clear of One of a Kind (Lemon Drop Kid). The winner is a full-brother to this year's GIII Spiral S. winner Oscar Nominated, GSW, $427,405. His dam, who was also campaigned by Amerman Racing to a win the 2010 Santa Lucia H., produced a Point of Entry filly in 2015 and a Ghostzapper colt thisterm before being bred back to Flatter.
