Chinese White, who carried high stable expectations into this debut, showed early dash to grab the lead under Pat Smullen. Always comfortable on the front end, the 7-2 second favorite cut loose at the top of the stretch and opened up to secure an authoritative six-length success from Carbonia (Ire) (Alhaarth {Ire}). "
We have a very smart bunch of two-year-olds and she is one of them," trainer Dermot Weld said. "She will run one more time this year in a stakes race somewhere and wants a mile already--she'll make a nice staying filly next season." The grey becomes the fifth winner for her freshman sire (by Darshaan {GB}). The 3-1 favorite Kitty Matcham (Ire) (Rock of Gibraltar {Ire}) was forced deep out on the track from her high draw and could not land a serious blow, eventually staying on into fourth. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, Eu13,020.
