Doxology caught the eye of Pete Bradley of Bradley Thoroughbreds with a strong breeze in :10 1/5 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale and he snapped her up for $75,000 from the consignment of Kings Equine this May for these connections. The $40,000 FTKOCT yearling was a regular on the Churchill Downs worktab since late August including an Oct. 12 four-panel move in :48 3/5 (6/41) prior to facing the starter Wednesday afternoon. Sent off at 7-2 in this unveiling, Doxology exited stage left towards the gap at the bell, but Channing Hill straightened her out and she recovered to spot the field as many as 10 lengths for the backstretch run. Unleashing a huge move deep in the center of the track, the chestnut was already second-last after a first quarter in :22.04. Able to sustain her run, the juvenile was fifth after five panels in :58.72, but kept up her furious rally well off the inside to win going away by 4 1/4 lengths en route to ‘TDN Rising Star’ honors. Lemon Lover (Lemon Drop Kid) was best of the rest. Forever Bertie, a half-sister to GSW Thunder Bertie (Thunder Gulch) out of MSW Alltheway Bertie (Alwuhush), foaled a filly by Yes It’s True this year. Sales history: $37,000 RNA 2yo ’15 OBSMAR. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $19,200. Click for the Equibase.com chart or the free Equineline.com catalogue-style pedigree.
