Jennifer Lynnette was hammered down to 3-5 favoritism despite posting just two published workouts and ran to her odds with a dominant victory on debut at Woodbine, becoming the newest ‘TDN Rising Star’. Away a half-step slow from the rail, she was rousted along to set the pace through fractions of :22.28 and :45.72. She effortlessly shook free from her pursuers on the turn, was kept under steady encouragement from Patrick Husbands in the lane she reported home 5 1/4 lengths best, then galloped out well ahead of her rivals. Fellow first-timer Sophia’s Song (Bellamy Road), the clear second favorite at 5-2 from a morning line of 6-1, was second, 6 1/4 lengths ahead of La Foresta (Forestry) in third. The winner’s dam was sold carrying this foal in utero for $210,000 at Keeneland November in 2012 and foaled colts by Tiznow and Orb in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
