Tap to It, favored at 5-2 in her maiden voyage in this hotly contested Saratoga affair, was away awkwardly and took back sharply to stay off heels in the first sixteenth, as Theatric (Bernardini) showed the way through a :22.52 opening quarter. She angled off the rail around rivals midway on the final bend, but was forced to steady in the two path at the head of the lane, while a bit green. Fanned towards the grandstand by Joel Rosario in midstretch to avoid tiring rivals and take dead aim on leader Shayna Lady (American Lion), the grey came calling late to land the spoils by two lengths. Shayna Lady, who looked home free in midstetch, hung on for second. Theatric, a daughter of dual champion Ashado, tired to fifth after making the early running. The winners dam Leave Me Alone, who won the 2005 GI Test S. during her racing days, sold for $1,000,000 in foal to A.P. Indy to Summer Wind Farm at the 2007 FTKNOV sale. She produced a yearling filly by Distorted Humor named Exit Laughing in 2014 and a Smart Strike filly, Alone on the Lead this term. This is the extended family of GSW and MGISP Candy Boy (Candy Ride {Arg}). Sales history: $400,000 Ylg ’14 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $49,800.
