Liam's Map, an $800,000 KEESEP yearling, was backed down to 2-1 for his seven-panel unveiling on the GI Travers S. undercard at Saratoga Aug. 23, and gave a good account of himself to be second, earning a 90 Beyer Speed Figure. Backed at 3-4 to get it done this time, the lanky grey rushed up after a slightly awkward beginning, but was kept well off the rail, allowing a rival inside of him to gain the early advantage. Hard held from second behind splits of :22.95 and :46.40, the chalk put a neck in front approaching the quarter pole, and poured it on from there, streaking away to an effortless 9 1/2-length romp. Point Hope (Elusive Quality) rallied to complete the exacta. The winner's dam, who was third in the inaugural running of the Breeders' Cup F/M Sprint in 2007, is also responsible for Taylor S (Medaglia d'Oro), a 3 3/4-length debut-winning 2-year-old filly at Churchill Sept. 4 for Albaugh Family Stable and Dale Romans. Miss Macy Sue has a yearling filly by Malibu Moon and a weanling colt by Giant's Causeway. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $64,600.
