Tammy the Torpedowas backed down to 2-1 favoritism to become the second winning turf firster in as many days for Chad Brown, and she did not disappoint. Away well from her far outside draw, the dark bay found a spot in midpack while racing in the two path down the backside. She began to show interest entering the home bend, and was scrubbed on by Joel Rosario as she mounted a three-wide bid into the lane. In front in just a few strides, the leggy youngster kicked away to don cap and gown by 3 1/4 lengths. Eskenformoney (Eskendereya) was second. Cool Comfort (Big Brown) crossed the wire third in front of Carta de Oro (Medaglia d'Oro--Communique), but the stewards reversed the third and fourth placings due to interference in the stretch. The winner was a $100,000 KEESEP yearling turned $225,000 OBSAPR juvenile after breezing in :10 1/5. Her dam is a half to multiple graded stakes-winning turfer Criminologist (Maria's Mon). Brown's previous winning juvenile turf firsters at Saratoga to go on to graded stakes glory include Dayatthespa (City Zip), More Than Real (More Than Ready), Noble Tune (Unbridled's Song), Ready to Act (More Than Ready) and Silver Medallion (Badge of Silver). He also sent out Due Diligence (War Front) to a smashing "TDN Rising Star"-garnering success just over a year ago. Subsequently purchased privately by the Coolmore contingent, that colt owns a pair of stakes wins in Ireland this season and was most recently second in Royal Ascot's G1 Diamond Jubilee S. in June.
Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $49,800.
