John F Kennedy, who is ambitiously named by connections, was second on debut to the potentially smart Jim Bolger trainee Hall of Fame (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}) over a mile at Leopardstown July 24 and showed how much he had learned from that experience by scoring with real authority here. Sent off the 11-8 favorite, the bay traveled smoothly in fifth early off the strong pace and made a move four-wide passing the three-furlong marker. In front a furlong later, the full-brother to the unlucky G1 Irish Oaks runner-up Tapestry (Ire), GSW & MG1SP-Ire, $271,012, who descends from the great Miesque stretched clear under mainly hand riding to score by 4 3/4 lengths from Pincode (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), with Dunquin (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}) a further 1 3/4 lengths behind in third. "He's still babyish, but very smart and we'll take our time with him," Aidan O'Brien commented.
