Having already spent time in the spotlight courtesy of her stint at last year's Tattersalls' October Sale, where she was knocked down for a world record yearling filly price of 5,000,000gns, Al Naamah had sidestepped the potentially easier route of opening in a maiden and was pitted against a quartet of experienced foes and two fellow debutantes in this eagerly-awaited racecourse unveiling. The bay dwelt as the gates opened, but pulled her way into a stalking second after a furlong. Nudged along briefly soon after turning for home, the 13-10 second favorite was pushed to the front with 300 meters remaining and kept on well under mild coaxing in the closing stages to easily account for previous seven-length winner Kenouska (Fr) (Kendargent {Fr}) by two lengths. Al Naamah is a full-sister to Was (Ire), G1SW-Eng & G1SP-Ire, $496,304; and a half to Janood (Ire) (Medicean {GB}), SW-Eng. Lifetime Record: 1 start, 1 win, €17,000.
