Favored Conquest Archangel (Blame), off to a slow start in her debut, was five-wide into the stretch and closed to be second. Take Charge Brandi was a $435,000 KEESEP purchase by Willis Horton in 2013. The filly's second dam is MGISW Take Charge Lady, who is the dam of Horton's champion Will Take Charge (Unbridled's Song), as well as Grade I winner Take Charge Indy (A.P. Indy). Her dam Charming, a $3.2-million KEESEP yearling whose 4-year-old Siete C (Unbridled's Song) won Sunday at Gulfstream, produced a filly by War Front in 2013 and a colt by that Claiborne stallion this spring.
