Having set a European Breeze-Up record at the Tattersalls Craven Sale in April, Great White Eagle was given a name to match his looks and prowess, and stepped on to center stage in this first outing. Confidently ridden by Joseph O'Brien settled behind the early leaders as the pace proved honest, the bay was angled wide still full of run inside the final quarter and, when asked to make his move, quickly settled the issue passing the furlong pole. At the line, the 2-1 second favorite had 2 3/4 lengths to spare over Gold Peregrine (GB) (Intikhab) without being asked to fully extend. "You'd have to be delighted with that, as he was just ready to run," Aidan O'Brien commented. "Joseph said he has plenty of speed and we might look at the G3 Round Tower S.
