Gold Medal Dancer, a narrow debut winner over the Arlington synthetic last September (video), was adding Lasix for her sophomore debut here. Working bullets over this course in the interim, she was backed at 7-2 to remain perfect over the wet going in this one. Off a bit slow from her inside draw, the bay saved ground while seventh throughout the hot early fractions of :21.84 and :44.99. Still with a ton left to do at the top of the stretch, the Pin Oak homebred began to come alive on the extreme outside after plenty of left-handed encouragement from Luis Quinonez, and impressively came charging widest of all to win going away by 1 1/4 lengths.
