Coventry Glory For Dark Angel's Berkshire Shadow

Leaving it late on debut when scoring over an extended five furlongs at Newbury Apr. 16, Berkshire Shadow (GB) (Dark Angel {Ire}) was again one of the last on the scene as he swooped to conquer in Tuesday's G2 Coventry S. First time up, the winner had spotted subsequent TDN Rising Star Gisburn (Ire) (Ribchester {Ire}) several lengths headstart with his tardy break before showing his class. With the strong tempo in part carved out by Gregory Kaufman's Kaufymaker (Jimmy Creed) and this more suitable trip to aid him, he...

Irish Stallion Trail Goes Virtual

In a normal year Irish stallion farms would be opening their doors this week to thousands of people traversing the Irish countryside enjoying the ITM Irish Stallion Trail. It may not be quite the same as the real thing but at least the efforts of the ITM team in capturing some excellent footage of new and established stallions and...

The Weekly Wrap: By Royal Acclaim

Back in April, when major sporting events across the world were being cancelled left, right and centre, the management team at the Queen's racecourse took the decision that, if racing had resumed in time, Royal Ascot would go ahead behind closed doors. The announcement was met with incredulity in some quarters, particularly by those keen to blame the spread of coronavirus on the Cheltenham Festival, but thank goodness Ascot stuck to its resolve to go ahead, even in extraordinary circumstances. Of course the meeting lost some of its lustre, just...
