A colt by Ransom the Moon (Hip 442) topped the day's trade at the OBS October Open Yearling Sale Wednesday, bringing $170,000 from Redwings, a pinhooking group led by Ciaran Dunne and Paul Reddam. Redwings was the top buyer by gross with their single purchase and Grassroots Training & Sales LLC was next with six yearlings bought for a total of $135,000. Midnight Storm Colt on Top at OBS October Selected Yearling Sale

A colt from the second crop of MGISW Midnight Storm (Pioneerof the Nile) (Hip 67) topped the Selected Yearling portion of the OBS October Sale when bringing $170,000 from Elusive Thoroughbreds. That entity was the session's leading buyer, taking home three head for $323,000. Consigned by Lisa McGreevy's Abbie Road Farm, Hip 67 was bred in Pennsylvania by Mary Katherine Haire. The supplemental catalogue for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2021 October Yearling Sale is now available via the OBS website and available in printed form on the OBS grounds. The two-day sale is set for Oct. 12-13. There were 17 additions to the Selected Yearlings portion as Hips 136-152. Thirty-two horses have been added to the Open Yearling Sale, selling as Hips 565-596. The Selected Yearlings portion is Tuesday, beginning at 1 p.m. and the Open Yearling section is Wednesday, starting at 11 a.m.

LEXINGTON, KY - The Keeneland September Yearling Sale lost none of its momentum during a dark day Friday, returning with an opening Book 3 section that featured strong demand from start to finish in Lexington Saturday.
