Woodbine Entertainment's Board of Directors has appointed long-time executive in the horse racing industry Hugh Mitchell as Chair, effective immediately. Mitchell was appointed to the position during Woodbine Entertainment's Annual General Meeting earlier Friday. As Chair of the Board of Directors, Mitchell will provide leadership, guidance and governance as Woodbine Entertainment fulfills its mandate to sustain and grow horse racing in Ontario. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (OLG) will return as title sponsor of the Canadian Triple Crown of Thoroughbred racing in 2022, Woodbine Entertainment announced Thursday. One hundred of the top Canadian-bred 3-year-old Thoroughbreds have been nominated to the 2022 Canadian Triple Crown. The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance's Off to the Races online auction, which closed Feb. 10, raised $35,125. Tim Lawson Named Woodbine's Director of Thoroughbred Racing

Woodbine Entertainment has named Tim Lawson, Woodbine's former manager of racing development and stabling operations, as the new Director of Thoroughbred Racing.
