First Rising Star for Saxon Warrior as Surpass Powers to Impressive Tipperary Success

Aidan O'Brien trainee Surpass (Ire) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}--Blending {GB}, by Medicean {GB}) shaped with promise when getting up late to snag his May 29 debut at Tipperary by a neck and returned to the Limerick Junction venue to attain 'TDN Rising Star' status with a powerful display in Wednesday's Glenvale Stud Race over an extended seven furlongs. The G1 Vincent O'Brien National Stakes entry, racing under a three-pound penalty, jumped out in second and was the nearest pursuer of the clear leader through halfway. Looming large going ominously well passing...

Truly Enchanting A New TDN Rising Star For No Nay Never

Almost certainly bred for further than the five furlongs she started over on Tuesday evening, Ballydoyle's regally-bred Truly Enchanting (Ire) (No Nay Never--Alluringly, by Fastnet Rock {Aus}) duly overcame in the style of a top-class prospect to earn TDN Rising Star status in the Visit Tipperary Fillies Maiden at the Limerick Junction track. Viadera's Sister Gets Black Type At Tipperary

Sent to Wednesday's Listed Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary S. just a week after scoring on debut at Naas, Juddmonte's Sacred Bridge (GB) (Bated Breath {GB}) was able to continue the momentum and gain a first black-type success in a race marred by the fatal breakdown suffered by Ballydoyle's Amalfi Coast (Ire) (Showcasing {GB}). Sent off the even-money favourite dropping back from six furlongs to five, the Ger Lyons-trained full sister to last year's GI Matriarch S. heroine Viadera (GB) pursued the early pace and after gaining the advantage passing the...

ParisLongchamp warms up for Sunday's main event with a fascinating card on Saturday, but it is Newmarket's sole pattern race which steals the show with the G1 Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot S. featuring a clutch of high-class milers. They are headed by the rising sensation Champers Elysees (Ire) (Elzaam {Aus}), who upstaged the re-opposing Peaceful (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G1 Matron S. at Leopardstown last time on Sept. 12 and has subsequently prompted a purchase by Teruya Yoshida. Stepping up off a prior win in the G3 Fairy...
