The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation has awarded $61,500 in education grants to seven organizations. The following organizations received scholarships and education funding from TERF this year: $5,000 to Amplifying Horse Racing; $10,000 awarded to Belmont Child Care Association, Inc.; $10,000 to Maryland Horse Foundation; $5,000 to MidAtlantic Horse Rescue; $7,500 to Retired Racehorse Project; $9,000 to Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation; and $15,000 to Wilson College. Cory Moelis Joins TERF Board

Cory Moelis has joined the board of trustees of the Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation. Moelis is the grandson of the group's late founder, Herb Moelis. The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) has opened their 2023 grant awards cycle. With the mission of bettering the life of Thoroughbreds, TERF primarily aims to support students in pursuit of education in equine industry careers and to fund research efforts which better the life of the Thoroughbred racehorse. The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) has awarded $12,000 to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. TERF Awards $4,000 to MidAtlantic Horse Rescue

The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) has awarded award $4,000 to the MidAtlantic Horse Rescue Inc. (MAHR) for educational purposes. MAHR's mission is to rescue Thoroughbreds from feed lots and kill pens and transition horses directly off the track. After quarantine and careful evaluation, horses are adopted into loving homes as sport horses and pets. The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) has awarded Wilson College $5,000 to be used for scholarship support. This year's scholarship recipient is Adrianna "Andie" Swanson of Kersey, Pa. She has been around horses her entire life and is expected to graduate in 2023 with a major in Equestrian Studies.
