Retired jockey and recent sales front man James "Colonel" Moseley passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, according to Journeyman Stud's Brent Fernung. He was 75. Moseley's riding career spanned from 1976 to 1989, during which he won 488 races with mount earnings of more than $3.5 million. The Keeneland September Yearling Sale, launched last week with a Bluegrass band, mimosas, and a boutique Book 1 section, continued its momentum straight through to the end of its 11th session, concluding with a sales record average, median and buy-back rate.
