Retired French trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre has been elevated to the rank of Knight in the French Legion of Honour. The award is the highest distinction for French citizens, and is comprised of the following ranks in order of increasing distinction: knight, officer, commander, grand officer, and grand cross.
