   Ashleyluvssugar (Game Plan), a five-time Grade II-winning 10-year-old gelding, made a splash- quite literally- on social media this week in a post from After the Finish Line, where he was seen taking an enthusiastic wade through a stream in the North Carolina mountains. The fan-favorite California-bred is now owned by Allie Conrad, who has worked with hundreds of ex-racehorses over the years, but said this one is truly one of a kind. 2020 TIP Performance Winners Announced

Applications for over 500 Thoroughbreds competing in horse shows were filed for consideration for the 2020 Thoroughbred Incentive Program awards, whose winners were announced Wednesday. The performance awards recognize Thoroughbreds accumulating the most points at all horse shows in each of the T.I.P. award categories and divisions throughout the year. The winners may be seen here. 50-Plus Cup Contenders Pledge Support to New Vocations

Over 50 connections of horses running in Friday and Saturday's Breeders' Cup races have pledged a portion of their runners' earnings to New Vocations, the largest racehorse adoption program in the country. Now in its 11th year, the annual pledge has raised over $650,000, with 100 percent of funds raised supporting the program's rehabilitation, retraining and rehoming efforts. New Vocations Finds Homes for 60 Retired Racehorses in April

Though April 2020 was a month of social distancing and working from home, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program withstood the trend of solitude and sent 60 retired Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses into new and loving homes. A total of 616 entries, representing 604 unique trainers and teams, were accepted Friday for the 2020 Thoroughbred Makeover Oct. 7-10 at the Kentucky Horse Park. The application process for the 2020 Thoroughbred Makeover required trainers to demonstrate their skills and expertise through competition results, videos and references, as well as a letter from a vet stating that the applicant had the necessary skills and knowledge to appropriately care for a horse transitioning off the track. BHA Expands Retired Racehorse Registration

The British Horseracing Authority has expanded its online system of registering retired racehorses to allow trainers, in addition to owners, to lodge information on where their charges are headed for their second careers. Under the previous system, only owners had been able to register this information. The new system, which debuts on Feb. 13, is designed to improve the traceability of horses permanently retired from racing. A dedicated page on the BHA's website, which will go live in March, will allow participants to check the retirement status of any horse....

The fourth International Forum for the Aftercare of Racehorses (IFAR) will be held in conjunction with the Asian Racing Conference (ARC), which is scheduled for Feb. 18-23, 2020, in Cape Town, South Africa.
