The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance will award $4.14m in grants to a total of 83 accredited aftercare organizations for 2024, the TAA announced Monday. This financial support is designed to assist organizations in delivering exceptional care and rehabilitation services for retired racehorses. Since its inception in 2012, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance has seen significant growth, expanding from 23 to 83 accredited organizations and increasing its annual grants from $1 million to $4.14 million. The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance hosted its fourth annual calendar contest and a dozen winning photos of Thoroughbreds were selected to be featured in the 2025 edition, sponsored by the Churchill Downs Foundation, the non-profit said in a release on Thursday. Schosberg To Be Honored For New York Aftercare Efforts Sept. 10

Honoring retired trainer Rick Schosberg, the New York State Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund will hold a 'Salute to Thoroughbred Aftercare' from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET. Ireland's Agriculture Minister Addresses “Distressing” Scenes In RTE Documentary

Horse Racing Ireland said it is "deeply shocked and appalled" by the footage of animal abuse shown in an RTE Investigates programme that was broadcast on Wednesday evening while Ireland's Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue said those responsible for the alleged mistreatment of horses will face the "full rigour of the law".
