ThoroEnduro, the free online handicapping contest at Remington Park, returns for the ninth consecutive year Friday, Sept. 10 and will continue through Dec. 17. ThoroEnduro offers more than $9,000 in prize money with a $4,000 Grand Prize. Remington Park and Lone Star Park president and general manager Scott Wells will retire from his position this fall. Wells was on staff at Remington Park for three years beginning in 1990 soon after the OKC track first opened for live racing in 1988. Wells returned to Remington to his present position in 2005 and has directed operations at the track since then. He assumed the role of president and general manager at Lone Star Park in 2013. A federal lawsuit spearheaded by the state of Oklahoma to try and get the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act (HISA) voided for alleged constitutional violations was filed Monday, meaning there are now two active legal challenges in the United States court system attempting to derail the regulatory powers of the HISA "Authority" prior to that regulatory body's planned 2022 phase-in.
