The 4Racing Owners Club presented a cheque to Racing Welfare for £5,000 on July 4, Racing Welfare announced on Thursday. The ownership group has the winning horse Snowy Burrows (Fr) (Montmartre {Fr}) with Rebecca Menzies, and the presentation was held at Menzies's Howe Hills yard after a tour. TB-Ed, a UK Thoroughbred Breeders' Association education and training initiative, was launched by the TBA on Wednesday. The Henry Cecil Open Weekend, slated for Sept. 18-19 this year, will welcome visitors back to Newmarket for the first time since 2019. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the event, which normally features racing and equine enthusiasts visiting training yards, into a virtual format for the first time. Racing Welfare in conjunction with Great British Racing (GBR), the Tote and Sky Sports Racing, have launched the 2021 edition of the pop idol competition, Furlong Factor. Introduced last season, the competition is free to enter and first prize is £1,500 in cash and a trophy from Inkerman London. Tweenhills Angus Burger and Tweenhills Coffee vans were launched at the Tattersalls December Sales to raise money for Racing Welfare by Tweenhills and Qatar Racing. Racehorse Lotto, which aims to introduce more owners into racing while giving back to charity, is raffling the ownership of a Postponed (Ire) filly in training with Roger Varian for the year. Racing Welfare has partnered with employee assistance programme (EAP) Care first, who will support the charity with the delivery of racing's Support Line for the industry, Racing Welfare announced on Tuesday.
