Additional Five Quarter Horses Euthanized at Los Alamitos Due to EIA

Following news less than two weeks ago that seven Quarter Horses testing positive for Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) at Los Alamitos were euthanized, the California Horse Racing Board (CHRB) issued a grim update Wednesday evening. The infectious disease necessitated the euthanization of an additional five horses Oct. 16. Like the original seven, all five were Quarter Horses trained by Heath Taylor. A Quarter Horse stabled at Los Alamitos, which will hold its next Thoroughbred meet in December, was discovered to be suffering from Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) in late September and has been euthanized. 2023 Race Dates Approved For Horseshoe Indianapolis

Racing dates for the 21st season of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing at Horseshoe Indianapolis were approved by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) at their regular meeting Dec. 1 held at Harrah's Hoosier Park. 2022 Indiana Grand Dates Approved

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission approved a request for dates for the 2022 racing season at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino during a Tuesday meeting. The 127-day racing season will begin Apr. 19 and end Nov. 23, 2022. The schedule marks the most racing dates in one season for Indiana Grand. The bulk of the racing season will be contested Monday through Thursday. Continent's Winningest Thoroughbred Beats Quarter Horses

Six Ninety One (Congrats), currently North America's winningest Thoroughbred with nine victories in 2021, won an 870-yard Quarter Horse race by a nose Tuesday at Arizona Downs. Indiana Grand 2021 Race Dates Approved

Indiana Grand Racing & Casino received approval for 2021 racing dates Thursday at the monthly Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) meeting. The schedule will offer 120 days of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing beginning Tuesday, Apr. 13 and running through Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021.
