Ide Euthanized Due to Colic

Multiple graded stakes-winner Ide (Forty Niner--Maytide, by Naskra), a 31-year-old pensioner at Old Friends retirement facility in Georgetown, was euthanized at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital Friday due to colic. The chestnut stallion had been at Old Friends since Aug. 29, 2016 thanks to the Ide Group, which consists of three cousins, Allen Peltier, Bryan Harang, and Harvey "Drew" Peltier. Owner/Breeder Peter S. Willmott Dies at 86

Funeral services were held Saturday for Peter Sherman Willmott, an owner and breeder of Thoroughbreds who served for nearly two decades as a trustee and chairman of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA) and as a steward of The Jockey Club. Willmott was 86 and died at his home in Williamstown, Massachusetts, Nov. 11 while surrounded by family, according to his obituary in the Chicago Sun-Times.
