The catalogue for the third annual Wanamaker's Pennsylvania-Bred Sale, featuring 33 offerings and held in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association, is now available for viewing at wanamakers.com. The catalogue contains yearlings, in-foal broodmares and other horses of all ages. Bidding opens Sunday, Jan. 7 at 9 a.m. ET and will conclude Thursday, Jan. 11 with the first listing set to close at 5 p.m. ET. PHBA Strips Fourth-Place Stakes Filly Of State-Bred Status

A 2-year-old filly who ran fourth as a first-time-starter in a $100,000 stakes for registered Pennsylvania-bred and -sired offspring in August has had her state-bred status stripped after the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association (PHBA) determined she was actually bred in New Jersey. Brian Sanfratello, the executive secretary of the PHBA, disclosed the "status removal" for Miss Ellary (Social Inclusion), during the Sept. 26 meeting of the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Commission. Pennsylvania Day at the Races Draws 142 Entries

A total of 142 entries were taken for Pennsylvania Day at the Races, the 13-race extravaganza for Pennsylvania-breds worth over $1 million, including seven $100,000 stakes, to be run Monday, Aug. 22 at Parx Racing. This year's card of stakes offerings was expanded from five to seven with the addition of two restricted to Pennsylvania-bred and sired 2-year-olds, each of which attracted 12 entries. Pennsylvania's Heroine Scores in GI Madison Stakes

   A caravan of over 20 people made the 500-mile journey from central Pennsylvania to central Kentucky last week to watch star Pennsylvania-bred Just One Time (Not This Time) step up to Grade I company in the Madison S. at Keeneland. Wanamaker's to Host Inaugural Online PA-Bred Sale

Wanamaker's, the online Thoroughbred auction site, will host the first-ever Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association online auction Oct. 28. The sale will be open to Pennsylvania-bred weanlings, yearlings, and racehorses as well as broodmares and broodmare prospects owned by PHBA members. The Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association's Iroquois Awards, honoring the top Pennsylvania-bred Thoroughbreds of 2019, was held via Zoom Friday night.
