Seventeen Hall of Fame jockeys--a list that includes former Monmouth Park leading riders Don Brumfield, Julie Krone and Craig Perret--will be on hand when the seventh annual Jockeys and Jeans Fundraiser holds its annual event at Monmouth Park on Sept. 11. All of the proceeds from the event go directly to the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. The Jockeys and Jeans Great American Stallion Season Sale will once again benefit the PDJF and this year will offer both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse stallions. The auction begins Jan. 29 at 9 a.m. and ends Feb. 1 at 5 p.m on Starquine.com. A season preview will be available Jan. 28. All seasons sold, their buyers and their prices are private. All seasons are non-guaranteed and donors have the option of including a breed-back the following year if the buyer's mare does not get in foal on first cover.

Maker's Mark, the official bourbon of the Breeders' Cup, has produced a unique commemorative Breeders' Cup bottle with proceeds to support the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF). Approximately $70,000 was raised by the Jockeys and Jeans Stallion Season Sale for the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF), double its 2019 revenues, the organization announced Monday. Over 20 stallion seasons were sold, including a season to Claiborne Farm's Runhappy (Super Saver), which topped proceedings at $25,000. The season was donated by the stallion's owner, Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale.
