OTTB Fees Waived for Temecula Fall Series Fees

Nilforushan Equisport Events (NEE) has waived the entry fee for off-the-track Thoroughbreds (OTTB) at the Temecula Valley National Fall Series. Held at Galway Downs in Temecula, California, the inaugural event will feature two back-to-back weeks in multiple rings from Nov. 11-15 and Nov. 18-22. Real Rider Cup Goes Virtual

The 2020 edition of The Real Rider Cup--an annual competition designed to showcase off-the-track Thoroughbreds and raise funding FOR the Retired Racehorse Project (RRP), New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program and The Fair Hill Thoroughbred Show--is going virtual this year. Record Number of Adoptees for Take the Lead

TAKE THE LEAD Thoroughbred Retirement Program (TTL) just closed its 2019-20 fiscal year with a new mark of 135 former racehorses transitioning to second careers for the year. The previous record for the program, which was created by the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (NYTHA) in 2013, was 98 retirees for the fiscal year of 2016-17. 616 Entries Accepted for 2020 TB Makeover

A total of 616 entries, representing 604 unique trainers and teams, were accepted Friday for the 2020 Thoroughbred Makeover Oct. 7-10 at the Kentucky Horse Park. The application process for the 2020 Thoroughbred Makeover required trainers to demonstrate their skills and expertise through competition results, videos and references, as well as a letter from a vet stating that the applicant had the necessary skills and knowledge to appropriately care for a horse transitioning off the track.
